Job Description
A small, employee-owned Environmental Consulting firm located in the Northgate area of Seattle is looking to hire an experienced Biologist, Ecologist, or Scientist. The candidate will join a team supporting a variety of public and private sector projects, including working with residential and commercial developers. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage projects and participate in all aspects related to wetland assessments, including wetland and stream delineations, wetland ratings, data collection and analysis, wetland mitigation design and monitoring, permitting, and wetland report preparation.
Responsibilities

- Perform wetland ratings and data collection
- Design and monitor wetland mitigation plans

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, soil science, or related fields
- Certification as a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or Wetland Professional in Training (WPIT)
- Completed University of Washington Wetland Certification or similar program (preferred but not required)
- 6+ years of experience in aquatic resource delineation and assessments
- Mitigation monitoring and reporting experience
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Knowledge of Washington State SEPA and regional wetland regulations
- USACOE PNW Section 404/401 wetland permitting experience
- Training and experience with the current Washington Department of Ecology (WDOE) Wetland Rating System and credit-debit analysis method for calculating mitigation requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Construction work-site experience
- High-resolution GPS, GIS, Bluebeam, and CAD experience (a plus)
Work Environment
The typical workweek includes spending two days in the office and the remainder of the week onsite. Employees have the option to drive their own vehicle with mileage reimbursement or use a company car stationed at the office.
