Job Title: Inventory Specialist
Job Description
As an Inventory Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately counting and tracking lumber inventory using Excel, conducting physical counts of lumber across a 10-acre property, and managing over 7 million footage of lumber. You will verify truck loads, collaborate with the Operator on production reports, manage waste, perform daily audits, ensure accurate reporting of units, calculate board measurements, purchase plant supplies, assist with new hire paperwork, and complete remanufacturing calculations.
Responsibilities
- Accurately count and track lumber inventory using Excel.
- Conduct physical counts of lumber across a 10-acre property, managing over 7 million footage of lumber.
- Verify that truck loads are correct and match inventory records.
- Collaborate with the Operator to maintain accurate production reports.
- Manage and calculate waste to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Check reporting for errors and perform daily audits as needed.
- Ensure accurate reporting of units and inventory tracking in Excel software.
- Accurately and precisely calculate board measurements and quantities.
- Purchase plant supplies as needed to support operations.
- Assist with new hire paperwork and other clerical tasks as needed.
- Complete remanufacturing calculations to track larger units broken into multiples.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Excel and other inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting and tracking inventory.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving lumber.
- Excellent mathematical skills for precise calculations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in inventory management or a related field is preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in inventory management, inventory tracking, and Excel data entry.
- Skills in material handling, inventory, shipping & receiving, warehouse inventory, and cycle counts.
- Experience with lumber inventory tracking.
- Experience in purchasing supplies and assisting with new hire processes.
Work Environment
This position operates in a blue-collar environment with working hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. You will have the opportunity to work outside and not be confined to an office. There is a potential hourly raise for completing a full work week without accidents or absences.
