Job Title: Human Resources Generalist


Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The successful candidate will participate in various company-wide workforce and Human Resources initiatives, focusing on employee development and training programs. This role involves implementing training programs, conducting New Hire Orientation, and assisting in employee retention and recognition programs. The ideal candidate will have a background in HR management and a passion for enhancing employee engagement and communications.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in company-wide workforce and Human Resources initiatives addressing areas of employee development and training programs.
  • Implement and execute training programs for business groups, including scheduling attendees, organizing training materials, and processing training assessments.
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation to ensure all new employees are adequately informed of company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Assist in providing guidance and direction in using various development tools and methods to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Track development progress to assist in employee development, High-Potential programs, succession planning, and promotions.
  • Administer employee retention and recognition programs.
  • Assist the HR Manager in implementing effective retention strategies, including recognition and employee surveys.
  • Seek out and present alternatives to enhance engagement and employee communications.
  • Conduct focus group sessions to gain feedback on employee engagement and identify areas for improvement.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication, coordination, and working relations with HR teams, site personnel, and management.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date human resources files and employment records.
  • Update various reports, logs, and employee database information.
  • Communicate HR and company policies and programs to site employees as needed.
  • Provide superior employee administrative support by responding to employment-related inquiries and coordinating with related departments.
  • Handle confidential material and information in an ethical, professional manner.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • 2 or more years of generalist HR or office experience with exposure to organizational development and training, employee assistance, benefits administration, and employee recognition and retention programs.
  • 5 years of experience in HR.
  • Ability to interact effectively with blue-collar manufacturing workers.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with HR systems such as ADP, Kronos, and SuccessFactors.
  • Familiarity with UKG systems.
  • Current SHRM or PHR certification, with SHRM weighted higher.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment law and equal employment guidelines.
  • Knowledge of staffing administration, including recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, and training.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other proprietary software.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Ability to solve problems effectively and exhibit sound judgment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work with diverse client groups.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to guide processes to closure.
  • History of driving positive change with measurable results.

Work Environment

The work schedule is 9:30 am - 6:30 pm, with an 80-9 schedule, offering every other Friday off. Alternatively, there is a 6 am - 3 pm schedule with 81 hours in a two-week period. The role involves working on a true production floor that may be wet and not the cleanest or most technical space. The candidate should be comfortable interacting with people in this environment.
