Job Title: General Accountant
Job Description
- Manage all accounting transactions: Oversee financial transactions specific to manufacturing operations, including raw material purchases, production costs, and inventory management.
- Prepare budget forecasts: Develop and maintain budget forecasts that reflect the financial needs and goals of the manufacturing process.
- Publish financial statements in time: Ensure timely preparation and publication of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings: Conduct thorough closings at the end of each accounting period, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable: Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and customer invoices.
- Ensure timely bank payments: Oversee and ensure timely processing of bank payments, including payroll, vendor payments, and other financial obligations.
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns: Calculate and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements: Maintain accurate balance sheets and profit/loss statements, reflecting the financial health of the manufacturing operations.
- Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity: Provide regular reports on the financial health and liquidity of the company, highlighting key financial metrics and trends.
- Audit financial transactions and documents: Conduct audits of financial transactions and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary: Ensure the confidentiality of financial data and perform regular backups of financial databases.
- Comply with financial policies and regulations: Adhere to all financial policies and regulations, including industry-specific standards and best practices.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting.
- Associates Degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, and cost control principles.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and statements.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience in Accounting Software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as an Accountant in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with large ERP systems.
- Proficiency in financial statement preparation, financial reporting, balance sheet, and balance accounts.
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central.
Work Environment
The role is situated in a manufacturing environment and you will work in an office cubicle, seated with the accounting and finance team. You will be trained by the current general accountant.
