Job Title: Senior Process Engineer


Job Description

The Senior Process Engineer drives technological and process improvement activities. This role is responsible for creating and implementing new products and processes, improving productivity, reducing customer complaints, and minimizing costs. The ideal candidate will have experience in extrusion and medical tubing and will work extensively in a Class 7 clean room, performing validations and setting up processes. The Senior Process Engineer will evaluate, implement, and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of flexible packaging products and will coordinate the implementation of new capital manufacturing equipment and processes to optimize production and increase capacity.


Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, implement, and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of flexible packaging products.
  • Drive global projects, including identifying and sourcing capital needs to achieve best-in-class technology and processing.
  • Perform cost improvement projects and quality improvement projects to support manufacturing goals that positively impact and reduce COGS.
  • Define and manage project activities for commercial release of new products and corresponding manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with site operations leadership to identify and resolve technical systemic challenges and support commercial solutions.
  • Act as a conduit to the commercial team in determining product requirements for new opportunities.
  • Manage major validation efforts by scoping master validation plans and executing complex validation requirements.
  • Translate customer needs into quantifiable CTQs for project scoping, progress reporting, and actionable plans.
  • Apply risk management best practices to the development process by identifying hazards, evaluating associated risks, and controlling these risks.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively in a cross-functional organization and present technical information to diverse audiences.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Extrusion Subject Matter Expert
  • Familiar with Polyolefin materials and their applications
  • Understanding of flexographic printing process, including inks, plate materials, diluents, and drying
  • Experience with Project Management, Design of Experiment, Design for Lean Six Sigma, and Statistical Analysis
  • Resourceful and innovative in driving projects to completion
  • Effective communication of project expectations to team members and stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify errors and deficiencies

Work Environment

The work environment includes working extensively in a Class 7 clean room, performing validations, and setting up processes. The candidate will collaborate and communicate effectively in a cross-functional organization. The role involves presenting technical information to audiences with diverse backgrounds and connecting technical concepts to business outcomes.
