Job Title: Plant Manager
Job Description
The Plant Manager will oversee the machine shop and fabrication shop, mechanical assembly, and shipping/receiving functions, including crate building. The individual will ensure workflow scheduling for timely assembly, address equipment challenges, and provide operational oversight. The role involves continuous improvement, cost optimization, team leadership, stakeholder collaboration, safety compliance, and resource management.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational oversight for machine and fabrication shops, mechanical assembly, and shipping/receiving functions.
- Schedule workflow for parts to ensure timely assembly and address any challenges faced by the mechanical assembly team.
- Step in to assist when equipment is not operating as expected.
- Develop and implement metrics for shop floor productivity, focusing on indirect versus direct hours.
- Ensure team members meet deadlines and manage shop timelines effectively.
- Oversee fab and assembly supervisors, promoting a positive attitude and morale within the team.
- Project a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain housekeeping practices.
Essential Skills
- Experience in equipment manufacturing and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage shop timelines.
- Familiarity with engineered-to-order (ETO) environments.
- Experience navigating an ERP system.
- 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within an ETO organization.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, business management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Work Environment
The position is primarily office-based with required interactions in the shop. The shop environment may expose the individual to fumes, heat, and airborne particles, with moderately loud noise levels. Safety equipment such as safety glasses and safety toe work shoes must be worn while in the shop.
