Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a self-starter Manufacturing Engineer who will drive process improvements and cost reductions. You will design and implement processes and equipment to enhance production efficiency, work with the engineering department to improve designs for manufacturability, and study feasibility to implement processes for a new fabrication operation.
Responsibilities
- Learn Epicor and product requirements.
- Design and implement manufacturing systems.
- Work with engineering to release or improve products.
- Monitor manufacturing process to assure quality standards are met.
- Identify areas for cost reduction while maintaining quality.
- Communicate with staff and management on ways of implementing plans and recommendations.
- Perform basic mechanical assembly, using hand tools and measuring equipment.
- Conduct studies pertaining to lead time reduction, cost control, cost reduction, and inventory control.
- Define and solve technical problems in the manufacturing environment.
- Interface with design engineering to incorporate changes that improve designs.
- Oversee the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of advanced automation solutions, leveraging technologies such as RPA, machine learning, AI, or industrial control systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, identify automation opportunities, and define project objectives and scopes.
- Conduct rigorous testing, validation, and documentation of automation solutions to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Oversee and develop retrofit/refurbishment projects for existing automation equipment to improve productivity and reliability.
- Perform vetting analysis for all projects, including financial, operational, and technical analysis.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 3 years of experience with AutoCAD/Inventor.
- 3 years of experience using Epicor.
- 3 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer focusing on process improvements.
- 3 years of experience in fixture design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience with manufacturing engineering.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies.
Work Environment
This is a hands-on role where you will be working in a facility that manufactures treadmills and other fitness equipment. You will be involved in both design and practical implementation, using hand tools and measuring equipment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and the use of advanced automation technologies will be key aspects of your daily work.
