The Position East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) invites individuals to apply for Limited Term (LT) Ranger/Naturalist I positions. The current LT vacancies are in the East Bay Watershed/Recreation Division and the Mokelumne Watershed Recreation area. The Ranger/Naturalist I is a training position which, under close supervision, performs basic maintenance and operational duties related to EBMUD's watershed and recreation facilities and assists in tasks related to the development and conservation of range, forestry, fisheries, and wildlife. As knowledge and experience are gained, routine duties are carried out without detailed supervision. This position routinely works weekends, holidays, shift work and overtime; has public contact with the visiting public, answering questions and providing information about natural resources and available facilities. Ranger's patrol EBMUD's watershed lands, use hand and power tools to build and repair fences, remove hazardous trees and brush, install signs, and construct and repair various structures and other facilities. General duties may include: &bull; Constructing, maintaining, operating, and repairing watershed/recreation facilities to include fences, picnic tables, fireplaces, water developments, sanitation facilities, irrigation systems, and fishing and boating docks; uses common hand and power tools to make basic repairs. &bull; Answering visitor inquiries; giving directions; interpreting and explaining natural and historic features of the area; conducting tours and securing visitors' cooperation in adhering-to the rules and regulations of the area; calling for assistance if visitors' cooperation cannot be secured. &bull; Performing range and general watershed management duties to include conducting surveys, constructing erosion control structures, trails, and fire breaks; felling diseased and unwanted trees; posting signs; planting trees, lawns, and flowers; and participating in integrated pest and weed management. &bull; Assisting with EBMUD's fire inspection and prevention programs. &bull; Assisting in conducting various fisheries/wildlife surveys and conservation programs. &bull; Instructing visitors in safe boating practices; performing search and rescue duties; administering first aid and responding to various emergency situations. &bull; Maintaining a sanitary water supply by removing litter and garbage, pumping chemical toilets, burying dead animals, taking weather and reservoir elevation readings, and ensuring public health compliance. &bull; Operating power boats, motor vehicles, and radio communications equipment in performance of duties; performing preventive maintenance; making minor repairs and adjustments to tools and equipment. &bull; Keeping records and preparing oral and written reports of work performed, monies received, inventories, special incidents, and dangerous conditions. &bull; Attending periodic training sessions in first aid, boating safety, fish and conservations and public safety. &bull; May direct the daily work of temporary and part-time personnel; may orient and train new personnel in work methods and procedures. Ranger/Naturalist I (Limited Term)

The Position East Bay Municipal Utility District's (EBMUD's) Wastewater Technical and Emerging Issues group is currently seeking an Associate Civil Engineer who is motivated, energetic, innovative, a team player, a strong project manager, with excellent writing and verbal skills, and is experienced in wastewater process, operations, and maintenance engineering; and/or wastewater-related regulatory issues and wastewater-related research. In this role, the successful candidate will lead process area teams that conduct sophisticated wastewater treatment plant optimization projects involving innovative treatment processes or process modifications, automated process monitoring and control systems, state-of-the-art data handling technologies, and process computer modeling. Other projects may include leadership/support for wastewater treatment-related regulatory issues and research. Associate Civil Engineer (Wastewater Technical and Emerging Issues)

EBMUD has started work on the Retirement Systems Replacement Project and will soon begin its Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Replacement Project. This TC position will provide HRIS Analyst II work on both projects. HRIS Analyst II (Temporary Construction)

The Position Highly skilled professionals with experience in manual machine tool operation are invited to apply for East Bay Municipal Utility District's (EBMUD's) Maintenance Machinist position. Maintenance Machinists work both in the shop and field performing highly skilled mechanical maintenance, manual machining, repair fabrication, and installation work on a variety of industrial plant equipment such as pumps, electric motors, valves, plumbing systems, and related mechanical equipment. The work requires considerable independent judgment. The primary responsibilities will be manual machining unique replacement parts, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of pumps, pressure regulators, water isolation valves, and all other mechanical equipment located in the pumping plants and other facilities. The position also supports construction projects through shop fabrication and field installation of distribution water system and building components. NOTE: EBMUD's Maintenance Machinists are not comparable to CNC Machine Operator or Production Machinist positions with most firms. Ideal candidates are skilled, journey-level Manual Machinists with shop and field experience. Maintenance Machinist

The Position The East Bay Municipal Utility District's (EBMUD's) Wastewater Design Section is seeking a motivated, energetic and highly qualified individual with exceptional technical, problem-solving, project management and communication skills. The Associate Civil or Mechanical Engineer will manage high-profile projects related to implementation of key initiatives in the Wastewater Department. The Department has a capital improvement plan valued at over $400M over the next five years. The selected individual will perform a variety of complex engineering tasks associated with the planning, design, construction, and operation of a large wastewater treatment plant and interceptor system. The individual will play a key role in managing infrastructure improvements required to support the capital improvement program of the Wastewater Department. Electrical Technicians typically spend a large portion of time working in the field on 480V-12kV equipment. There are positions available in the Water and Wastewater departments, which report to Oakland or Walnut Creek. The Position East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) is currently seeking a motivated, experienced, and team-oriented Assistant Engineer to join the Wastewater Department's Project and Construction Management (PCM) Section. PCM section staff support the Wastewater Department's Capital Improvement Program as construction phase project managers for wastewater treatment and collection system rehabilitation and expansion construction projects. This position provides opportunities to gain construction management experience while working on wastewater treatment plant upgrades and traditional wastewater infrastructure rehabilitation projects. Assistant Engineer (Wastewater Project and Construction Management)

The Position Advance your career as an Associate Electrical Engineer with the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD), an industry leading water and wastewater utility, to fill an immediate vacancy in the Water Operations Department, in the Plant Engineering Services Section of the Facilities Maintenance and Construction Division.
